Wedding Cake Calculator: Size Tiers and Backup Slices
Use this wedding cake calculator to turn your headcount into servings, choose a real tier combination, account for slice style and a saved top tier, then price the complete plan.

The calculator keeps ceremonial tiers, cutting yield, backup cake, and price visible instead of hiding them in one guest-count rule.
- Wilton's chart gives 12, 24, 38, 56, and 78 wedding servings and 12, 20, 28, 40, and 63 party servings for 6-, 8-, 10-, 12-, and 14-inch round tiers that are 3 to 6 inches high.
- Wedding chart slices are about 1 × 2 inches; party slices are about 1.5 × 2 inches. The calculator sums Wilton's published yield for each selected tier and uses the matching published yield for each sheet-cake size.
- The 70%, 85%, 5%, and 10% settings are optional editorial planning scenarios, not evidence-based participation or cushion rates. Replace them with event-specific information from RSVPs, your baker, or your caterer.
- Saving a 6-inch top tier removes its 12 published servings in either slice style.
- Kitchen sheet cakes cover only the shortfall in the same selected slice unit and round up to whole cakes. Confirm sheet dimensions, height, slice size, and promised yield because bakery naming is not universal.
